Terms & Conditions of Trade
Our Contract
When ordering any goods from Don Smith Blinds either by phone, post or in person, we request a 25% deposit upon order placement. We will only process your order once we have received this payment we regret we cannot accept orders placed for delivery outside of the United Kingdom without prior agreement.
Cancellation
As our blinds are made to measure there is a 24hour-cancellation period only, after which the blinds you have ordered will be in the process of being manufactured to your precise measurements and therefore are not re-saleable. If you wish to cancel after this time there is a 50% surcharge. We reserve the right to cancel your order if we have insufficient stock to deliver the goods ordered, or you can choose an alternative product of the same value or be entitled to a full refund. There is no cancellation permitted once you are in receipt of your order.
Price
You will pay the price shown on our order form for the size and type of blind ordered plus postage and packing where applicable.
Delivery
Delivery takes approximately 10-14 working days from receiving your order. However we cannot be held responsible for delayed postal service, Strikes etc and will endeavour to deliver your order as soon as possible .As previously stated we do not deliver outside of the United Kingdom without prior agreement .We will deliver the goods to the address you have provided. It is your responsibility to check the condition of the goods at the time of delivery, if a defect is found it must be signed for as damaged, we must then be informed within 24hours (see contact us).
Defective goods
Don Smith Blinds guarantees that the goods sold to you will be free from defects in both material and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery to you. Should a defect arise within this time (excluding misuse, alteration or fair wear & tear) we will facilitate a repair or replacement.

Returns Policy We reserve the right to inspect the goods and to verify that they are defective and that those defects are attributable to damage by carrier, faulty materials or workmanship. If it appears to us that the goods are not faulty or damaged in transit they will be returned to you and a charge will be made for that redelivery. If you do not accept redelivery we reserve the right to make an additional charge for any administration and storage costs incurred by us. If it appears that the goods are defective we will repair or replace them free of charge. If you dispute our assesment of whether the goods are faulty or damaged in transit the dispute will be referred to an independant member of the BBSA, whose word will be final. For the purpose of this policy, goods are not deemed as being faulty by reason of any error in measurements provided by you. All returns must be in their original packaging, when returning goods postage & packaging costs will not be refunded.
Product description and measurements
Our product brochure and web site are examples only .Whilst every effort is made to represent colours as accurately as possible, due to variations in computer screens etc, we can not guarantee that the colours are exact. You may, if you wish, order a free sample before purchasing to ensure the material, colour etc is as you expected, as once ordered, after the 24hour cancellation period, your order cannot be cancelled (please see Cancellation Section). As the goods you order are manufactured to the measurements you give in your order, please ensure you double check your measurements before submitting your order (see measuring help), as we will not accept returned goods if measured incorrectly. All measurements must be in milliimetres.
Governing Law This contract is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts. If any part of these terms and conditions is deemed as unenforceable, then that provision shall be excluded and shall not affect the enforceability of the remaining terms and conditions.
